A Message from Mr Kulvinder Cheema

On Saturday 2nd July the school hosted an event celebrating 72 years of education on its site involving both Rainsford High School and St Peter’s College. Over a thousand people attended the successful events. Former students, parents and staff from all eras of both schools attended the day tour and the evening event. The feedback has been very gracious, thank you.

The evening event culminated in the presentation of a cheque to Farleigh Hospice as patrons were asked to donate towards this very worthwhile cause. Their contribution combined with that from the school enabled us to give Farleigh Hospice £1730.

A quote from a visitor who attended the day is below:

“I just wanted to write and thank you and your team for coming up with the idea of Saturday.  It was such a great afternoon, to catch up with people, some of whom I had not seen for 30 years and see how people had fared in life and also to have a last chance to look around the old school!

Please do thank your staff who had obviously worked so hard both before and on the day and also the students who were there. The students were superb and I came away thinking that if these are the type of students you have been producing in recent years then you can walk away knowing you have done an brilliant job.”

A busy term so far which culminated with the school production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. All year 8 & 9 students participated whether they were in the performance, back stage, front of house or prepared props. They will be assessed on their role and be given and appropriate Performance Arts grade.

St. Peter’s College has continued to flourish. It is with great satisfaction and admiration that students and staff can hold their heads high for the dignity and manner in which they have responded in the difficult circumstances they have found themselves in. We are determined to ensure the term ends on a high and the last week will demonstrate this. Once again thank you to all those who have supported us within our community and the many kind and generous words which have been said of late.

Thank you!
